Ukraine

On 24 February 2022 when Russia invaded Ukraine, the world watched in horror. Since that day the reports of the ongoing situation in Ukraine have been on the daily news. With reports of attacks against civilian targets of critical infrastructure, dams, cultural heritage, and even the residents themselves, the world has observed and responded. What has not been widely reported are the attacks on an even more vulnerable and innocent sector of the population, the animals.

Specialized help for the animals in Ukraine

Global Animal Rescue And Response is committed to helping this innocent group of victims. With the specialized skills in rescue that our team possesses, we can help in ways that others cannot. Whether it is a breached dam, a collapsed structure, or just general ground search and rescue, we are equipped to aid those in need of help or rescue. Our focus will not only be on the animals in need, but on aiding their human caretakers as well who have remained behind by their own choice for the animals.

Certified Training for Responders

One important part of our mission in Ukraine is to train responders in skills that will enhance their abilities in the environments which they work. Our team has instructors from various disciplines including search and rescue, medical, and even evasive driving skills. We can work on the ground providing certified training to those who can apply it in real world scenarios and benefit the most from it. Our training meets or exceeds NFPA standards for course compliance.

SLAVA UKRAINI

This is going to be a long-term project for GARR. The war is not going to end anytime soon, and when it does that is when the real recovery work will begin. As new areas of land are liberated, we will be there. As calls come in for help in remote and access challenged areas, we will respond. When the threat of Russian artillery or airstrikes loom while in the field, we will brave them. When high stress situations present challenges that others would not take on, we will accept those challenges and thrive.

We stand with Ukraine and shall always do so.
